Happy 200th Post to Me--and a GIVEAWAY!

200 Posts...WOW!  I can't believe it.  I never thought I would ever get to that number.  Sure, a 100...maybe, but not 200.  I have been tempted to call it quits a few times over the past 3 years, in between the hubby/kids getting sick, a hurricane that left us powerless for over 2 weeks, and a new baby.  But I recently decided to try to keep my cooking blog going...if not for me, then for my kids later on.  Wouldn't it be cool to publish my blog one day, and give a copy to each of my children when they get married?  Am I thinking too far into the future?  Probably! ;-)

Anyways...in honor of my 200th post, I thought, "Hey, I should have a giveaway"!


Up for grabs is this SUPER CUTE Easter Cupcake Kit and a Spring Toile Tea Towel.  Both items are from Sur La Table, one of my very favorite stores.  I nearly bought a set for myself. ;-)

Holiday Giveaway!

We had a grand time over Thanksgiving with the family...ate plenty of yummy food, delicious desserts, and great conversation with everyone.  I'm now completely, hopelessly addicted to Dreyer's Slow Churned Pumpkin ice cream. 

I also broke my left pinkie finger...and hoping it doesn't get in the way of all the cookie baking I plan to do within the next few weeks.  I never though about it...but you do use your pinkie finger for quite a number of things.  I keep missing the "a" key while I'm typing here. 

But...not even a broken finger stopped me from stopping by one of my very favorite stores today.  I deliberately stay away from this place, otherwise...I might go a little hog wild.  You know...a little...crazy. 

Here's what I got.

Want an early Christmas present?  How about a snowman tea towel, rubber scraper, and snowman cookie cutter, all from Sur La Table?  I know...SO CUTE!

The neat thing about the scraper is the rubber head can be pulled off the bamboo handle and tossed into the dishwasher.

I've Had a Makeover!

I decided it was time for my cooking blog to get a makeover.  Thank you's galore to Shauna at  See My Designs by Shauna for the beautiful, custom design.  She is awesome, and created something I ABSOLUTELY LOVE. Thank you so much Shaua for all the hard work you did for me!

I feel like celebrating!  And what better way to celebrate than having my very first giveaway? 

I love Ree Drummond, aka The Pioneer Woman.  She just published her first cookbook, and when I saw it on Amazon, I squealed with excitement, and promptly asked (okay...I BEGGED) my hubby to order two copies, which he did because he adores me...thank you darlin'! 

This means there is one cookbook for me, and one lucky gal (or guy).  And let me tell ya, it's full of yummy recipes, guaranteed to make everyone at your dinner table happy.  I've made PW's Enchiladas, and oh my gracious...heaven on a plate people. 

Now, here's the best part...I can either send the winner the cookbook right away, OR you can wait until I go to the Pioneer Woman's book signing at Blue Willow Books here in Houston on Dec. 5th.  And...drum roll please...I'll get YOUR copy signed for you too!  How about that?!  Yes, you can squeal now :-)
